Springing Forth

It is that time of year when seasonal comments are exchanged. Rather than Merry Christmas or Happy New Year, we look at each other with longing expressions, remembering a time so very long ago and ask, “Will spring e-v-e-r arrive?”

C

We’re tired of boots, wearing a jacket

Digging out cars, that scraping racket

Slipping on ice and oh, the snow

Will winter leave? Oh please, please go.

We’re ready for flowers and longing for spring

We want the birds and the peepers to sing

We long for grass and no snowbanks in view

Putting away shovels, we’re willing to do

To all you yard salers, remember, without fail

‘Tis the time when snowmobiles are on sale

So ’til spring arrives and winter is through

Put a smile on your face and others will too!
